The fractures lay within me,
Coarsing their way into my veins,
My despair stains like black honey,
A steady slow leak of pain.

Tear out my mind,
Suffocation, suffocating,
The relief of this release,
After constant constraint.

A light of hope flickers,
It's flame grows and recedes,
Whether I continue on,
or lay my weary bones to sleep.

Hope lifts my heavy heart,
Sorrow drags me back down,
I am left suspended here,
All alone with a black hound.

I don't know if I will see,
A world with a place for me,
A soul carrying the weight,
Of both hope and grief.
